New Downtown Toronto Condo: Picasso on Richmond

Picasso on Richmond

While Pablo Picasso paintings are trading in the range of $20.5-million at auction, works of art by this most famous artist are owned by only a handful of private and public collectors around the world. Monarch and The Goldman Group are celebrating this grand masters name with the Picasso on Richmond - launching in Platinum stage next week. To the best of our knowledge, we do not know of any other condominium that bears this artist's name.

Designed by Governor General Award-winning Teeple Architects, Picasso on Richmond will bring to the downtown core a striking, dramatic, & unprecendented sculptural form worthy of the Pablo Picasso's name. Imagine a vertical landscape of cubic forms that appear to float, accentuated by a dramatic red cut that jogs around each building face.

While more complete information will be released next week, some details have already been published regarding the amenities and design:

  • the base will have high end retail and commercial space
  • the third floor will house saunas and state-of-the art fitness facilities, including space for yoga
  • the tenth floor amenities have been designed by Chapman Design Group under the award-winning designer Kelly Cray and will include chef's kitchen, bar area, dining room, lounge space
  • also on then tenth floor leading out from the party room through sliding doors will be a landscaped outdoor space with hot tub and cabanas.

The location is probably one of the most sought-after in downtown Toronto - located at 318 Richmond Street West, the building will have Toronto's most dynamic neighbourhoods at its doorstep: Entertainment District, Queen Street West, Fashion District and Financial District. The Rogers Centre, Metro Convention Centre, Art Gallery of Ontario, Nathan Phillips Square and the University subway line are all a pleasant walk away. The area is also surrounded by restaurants, shops, galleries, theatres, night clubs - culture and excitement abound!
